number of people employed ?
I didn't know that Silicon valley is named so because of the "number of people employed in IT field". I thought it is the place, where great ideas came from, the place where great software is developed ! Now, name one world famous software developed in Bangalore ? Don't tell me stuffs like, the bug fixes for Oracle 8i is done at Bangalore, or the configuration dialog box for IE 5.0 is developed in Bangalore etc. Name one world class software that was wholly developed in Bangalore.

If you take the "number of people", no one can over take China and India. I read somewhere that the population of Bangalore is around 6 million ! That is a lot more than the population of Ireland !!!
