The new Ruling part in France has pushed to expand the work week to 40 hours, to match that of the USA as "France's production rate is less then that of the US".

In sept 2007 it was found that the US has the most productive work force in the western world, so the and they are trouncing us economically! They do half the time we do on average and yet produce almost double what we do is a total farce. In europe, the average work week is (like here in the US) 35-45 a week. Go figure. If what you say is true, then they work only 20 hours a week on average. Wow, they should be trouncing the US, but hey they are not.

London Stock Exchange consists of European member countries, Turkey, and I believe, Russia (not 100% sure), yet it just overtook the NYSE by .1 billion?

I think the reason many Americans "hate" the Europeans is because they have a system that is geared to allow a comfortable life, with medical care and a normal work week which allows for time with family

No one hates the Europeans as they lead the same lives we do, same issues, same hours, the works. Many dislike the EU leaders as they are turning out to be no different then any other ruling class, they had their chance to do it right, but instead have chosen to be all that they blame every other country to be.
