No need to explain
Since I have a good handle on whats going on here there isn't a need to explain anything so I skipped most of your post. Let me put it to you in plain english. What the EU is doing here is extortion. Microsoft has complied with them in every possible way even going as far as to give source code - it doesn't get much more available than that! With the source code anyone could write protocols for interoperability. That wasn't good enough for the EU. Nope, they want ALL the work done for them. They have some nerve expecting Microsoft to just hand over decades worth of hard work, research, and billions of dollars on a silver platter. Then the EU just sits back and collects money from the bribes they were getting from Microsoft's competition. This isn't right and I sugggest everyone to stand up against them!

Boycott the EU today!
