Bigger mistake
Going after the casual users that post files for non-commercial selling and not the organized distribution for sale happening all over the place.

I was told last night by one of the people at my child's summer camp that she already had "Shrek 2" and "Spiderman 2" on DVD. Her hubsband bought them on a street corner in Seoul. According to her, they are commercial DVD quality. In addition, he sent her about 50 of the latest CD releases, having paid $1 apiece for them. After all, "there are no copyright laws in Korea" is how she put it.

To carry it further, the software coming home from the far east is another question. When someone can buy a full copy of Illustrator or whatever, complete with manuals and a serial that will work (and be recognized as good) for only $10-15, you have worse issues than whether some kid is downloading Hillary Duff's latest piece of homogenized "pop."

Now please explain how busting some non-commercial home user is better than going after the counterfeit media industry?
