Wish I had a nickel
for every time someone on a Mac (classic) sent a file without an extension to one of my Windows users. When it happens I generally look at the raw data in the file. I can usually tell from the first few characters what type file it is, then just add the appropriate extension. In this case Outlook 2003 won't give me any access to the file. Can't save it, can't forward it to another machine, can't do squat with it. Microsoft's way of protecting users from "potentially unsafe attachments." Agreed the root (no pun intended) of the problem is the Mac classic user who sent the file, but I can generally work around that.

Thanks for the OS X clarification.
