I agree having everyone use 8.3 file naming isn't practical. But these poor Mac users we deal with are going to have a rude awakening when they switch to OS X. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Apple want OS X users to start using proper extensions on file names so they can put that dual forked file system behind them? Without a resource fork, how does OS X know a PDF is a PDF unless they name the file properly?
