The difference between Microsoft and . . .
car manufacturers is that car manufacturers spend a lot of money in crash testing and dyno testing their product, Microsoft on the other hand uses you as the crash test dummy.

Why doesn't Microsoft use that cash reserve to find its own security holes? Why do we have to listen to the likes of Grey Magic and E-eye and the whole legion of other people out there expostulating to no end about the security seive they find? Why isn't Microsoft finding the problems themselves and crowing about how many hundred security problems were found and patched by their trustworthy computing initiative, before Marc Maifret has a chance to even touch the OS, before we even have a sniff on the wind of the possibility of a security exploit?

Hmmm?
