That is because the virus only used the best seach engine on the best OS
The virus first takes over a Windows computer, then uses that computer to "google" for other email addresses. Of course if you want the fastest and best results, you use Google. If they did this with MSN, it would have brought the system it's knees and they would not get any results. This really only put an extra load on Google, which they handled very well, only slight degradation in performance. A good advertisment for Linux!
