Not sure why MS is getting pissy about this. They should be glad they are
not hosting OpenOffice. Actually, if MS keeps it up, they must might switch to OpenOffice. They could make sure that all of the MS compatible fonts are available - one of the biggest compatibility problems. They could advertise it as MS Office compatible.
