SCO, BayStar resume squabbling

Oct 03, Baystar invests money, so does RBC. It's a suckers bet, but their gamble.

March 5 04, Martha Stewart found guilty of lying to investigators.

March 11 04 Baystar says telephone calls between it and Microsoft were just investment suggestions.

April 16 04, Baystar tries to recover its money and *REDUCE* its holding, says SCO needs new, less talkative, management. SCO for reasons that escape me agree to hand back some money:

"SCO and BayStar appeared to have buried the hatchet in June, announcing a deal under which SCO would buy back all the preferred shares BayStar owned..."

Baystar then *INCREASES* its holding in SCO with a BS claim that it was 'strategic':

"RBC later backed away from the deal, ...selling the remainder to BayStar."


It's all cr*p isn't it?

I think, RBC has something on Baystar and SCO and that was why they were able to back out of the bet after it was clear the gamble was a dud.

I think Baystar has something on SCO and that is why SCO returned money.

Baystar offering information about telephone calls looks strange. If anyone wanted to get a warrant, wouldn't they get the telephone logs first as evidence of collusion? Doesn't this deflect that?

It all looks soooooo stinky, I think MS is directly or indirectly behind the Baystar & RBC investments and evidence of that is the shared secret that underpins these oddball discussions.
