control of his spending in the IT industry. He has finally discovered that all of the bloated software he was told he couldn't do without is something he has no need for. The IT industry has been providing little if any true improvements in their software which makes them worth buying. Instead of adding efficiency and thus positive returns on the investment in the software, they have actually introduced more and more ineficiency.

Like I have said before, the future of technology is going to be determined by the results it has on the balance sheet. It's the way of capitalism. And nothing overcomes the rules laid down by this way of life. No matter what, when, where, why or how, economics rules the planet. IT will either learn this or die. It is a 100% sure thing, if an investment becomes a liability, ie. becomes a drain on resources instead of a provider of resources, it will be cut out like a cancer. Period. End of story!
