Tend to the Garden
How do you make money on support?
Most companies see support as a cost.

It's a cost to the garden owner, it's income to the gardener.

Red Hat, Novell, etc. make money by supporting their customers. "Support" doesn't necessarily mean that there's something wrong with the software; it more often means education, migration planning, platform certification, update services, etc.

Just because you pay the gardener doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the garden.
