One more time: why does Microsoft make big profits?
Because they find out what the customers want and give it to them for a price the customers are willing to pay.

Just what any other successful company does, admittedly. But those opposed to Microsoft because of their strategies for software should stop listening to themselves for a moment and realize that reality is not following the rules they believe apply.

If Microsoft is going to be displaced, the winner will be a company that does what Microsoft does better.

Important lesson.
