"For one thing, why would "missile pods" (which, like all conspiracy photos are shown ultra-gainy - an easy way to cover up any doctoring of the photos!) be fitted if the buildings had carefully placed explosions for a controlled demolition?"
Because a plane crash could have NEVER taken down either tower. The designers specifically made it to withstand a direct aircraft hit. They were utterly SHOCKED when it came down. The extra pods were to make the explosion bigger than it would have been. If the planes crashed by themselves they would have made a much smaller explosion. And it would have been obvious to everyone that it never could have come down that way. The big explosion made it seem more real.
"Also, how the buildings would collapse would depend largely on how the building was built."
Well then answer me this: why did building 7 come down? It wasn't even hit by anything! It was a full block away from where the attack took place. Doesn't make any sense. Especially when you have Larry Silverstein, the owner of the WTC complex who put a hefty insurance policy on the lot just a few months before 9/11, admitting on a PBS documentary that he ordered the "pulling" (demolishing) of WTC 7 & 6. You can hear for yourself him giving the order to demolish the building here:

These explosives culd have ONLY been placed before September 11th. What were explosives doing being placed in these buildings? And why did the twin towers, towers 1 & 2, fall EXACTLY the same as WTC 7???
