Tiered pricing is why I dropped Comcast...
I got an ad from Wide Open West cable offering 112kps, 500kbps, 1.5Mbps, and 4.0Mbps speeds at different prices. By going to 500k from Comcast's 1.5M, I save $20 with no real dicernable loss in performance. For just the average internet user, you don't really need 1.5M. So that's why Comcast lost me as a customer becuase they had no choices. The Wide Open West cable TV has more flexibility as well, offering more options to customize your service. Another reason Comcast is kinda weak.
