This is promotional pricing and has been going on for years in the cable, long distance, and cellphones. Why not the internet?
To me tiered pricing is what I can get for Cable. I can low end cable internet account for $19.99 a month that has some severe limitations in terms of how much can be uploaded and downloaded. It's basically enough to do some surfing and emailing.
Next I can pay $34.99 a month for basic service which has a resonable upload and download limit.
Then there is the power user account that goes for $59.00 a month and has satic ip address and unlimited download capacity with a very large upload limit.
Next I can go for commercial account for $149.00 a month that has 3 static IP addresses and unlimited uploads and downloads.
