Never said he liked DRM
He never said that he liked DRM. He just stated that he wasn't going to exclude it from the Kernel. His reasoning was such that if they didn't include technologies just because he didn't agree with them. To do such was begin putting limits on what could or couldn't be done.

Many of the hard core free software folks jumped up and down ranting and raving because he took that stance. I thought he was smart for doing that. Much like his stance on GNU/Linux. Linux is simply the kernel for the GNU operating system, but for the most part, Linux is the main part and therefore assumes the name of the entity. That and who really wants to refer to Redhat as Redhat GNU/Linux.
