Yes, the EU "man handled" MSFT
But what did they get for their trouble? In the years that the investigation was pending and during the appeal, Microsoft consolidated its foothold in the server market, grew its Office business, and laughed all the way to the bank with their massive sales of Windows-N.

So they gave the EU some pocket change, agreed to play nice with documentation...and the beat goes on.

Best for the EU to just come out and say "we want to destroy Microsoft and all of its products and business practices, but we are too genteel to say this publicly. We will just rely on their competitors to keep bringing us fodder so we can keep interfering in their business so much that they lose focus and eventually the market."

Go ahead, admit it, this is what all of the ABM camp really wants deep down, right?
