NOT irrelevant - It is a M$ issue
The MicroBorg made an issue for them when they gave money to SCO to help finance the lawsuit. Yeah, I know, they can claim that the money was for other purposes but we all know the truth. This is MicroBorg-backed lawsuit. It's in their best interests to drag it out as long as possible.

The whole purpose of the suit is a lame attempt to intimidate and scare people away from Linux, at least long enough for the MicroBorg to get Longhorn out. Longhorn will help the MicroBorg make prisoners out of all computer users at which point they won't have to worry about Linux, or so they think. The MicroBorg will refer to it as Digital Rights Management or by some other innocuous sounding term, but in the end it's just another way for them to control what you do on your own computer. So yes, this IS a Microsoft issue.
