Giant PR Exercise
Those who suspect that the SCO lawsuit is a public relations stunt with no actual merit, and that ZDNet is among those who are participating in advancing this meritless PR fest, are given added ammunition in the form of this article.

The IBM subpoenas have been on the court docket, which is available on the web for anyone to see, since October 31. At the time this occurred, it was not considered newsworthy.

However, a Forbes reporter mentioned these subpoenas in an article yesterday, and -- guess what -- SCO has filed some subpoenas of its own, and THAT is the news brought to us by ZDNet.

These SCO subpoenas are so new that they do not appear on the court docket. In other words, they were probably sent out yesterday or the day before, when SCO heard from Mr. Lyons at Forbes that he was going to write about IBM's subpoenas.

Well, we can't have an article about IBM doing anything unless it is couched in SCO-is-winning terms, so out come some SCO subpoenas and all of a sudden that's newsworthy, where the IBM subpoenas were not.
