It all makes sense now
Why would Sun want Solaris to run on everything now? Simple, they're the new MS puppet after "selling out" to them. This way, if Solaris takes hold and ousts Linux which already runs on just about every architecture out there, MS/un can control those folks too. Call it a conspiracy theory, but there is certainly more to their madness than saving a borderline company. If I were IBM or HP I would not want to rely on a company to provide my OS- one that I could not modify to suit my needs. That's why they already have their own OS on their own hardware.
