Did you ever think you'd read:
"Peer-to-peer technologies hold real promise," RIAA Chief Executive Mitch Bainwol said in a statement. "This settlement with iMesh is an opportunity to demonstrate that promise in the legitimate marketplace."

What does this comment mean?
They've seen P2P as an enemy for a long time. And I don't think any non-trade operation uses P2P.

As we know, RIAA's supposed problems would go away with open licensing and a fair cost per download.
How can a P2P system work without open licensing?

And the comparatively small $4.1 million settlement with iMesh still open as is, at least for a while, is almost a vote of confidence.
I think other news sources should be checked for this one.
