VoteHere is open source!
You can download their code and scrutinize it yourself. http://www.votehere.com

This system does not mislead the voter about how their vote was counted. If you go online and see that your vote was tallied for a Democrat you can be confident of that. (this is impossible with any other system, including paper trail ones).

This system allows for scrutiny of the count by outsiders too, although all that is needed to verify the proper functioning of the machines is for a small fraction of voters to verify their votes online. In the case of miscounts, I'm not aware of any recount mechanism offered by the system. It is mostly designed to detect errors and reassure voters, not correct errors.

That said, it is possible that since the database matching each code to that voter's choices is accessible online, maybe an online revote could be conducted if something went wrong. Everyone would be invited to go to the site and correct any mistakes in their results.
