Who's doing what
People refusing to use OO because it "lacks functionality".

The documentation is out there for people who want to switch from OO to
OOXML.

I've got a strong feeling on one is actually thinking of doing that. But moving files
from a format to the other is easier yes. I agree the ISO standardization is a good
idea. But it does tell a lot about OOXML and Microsoft that it's not an ISO standard
and that there's been all kinds of scandal about the process. Like paying the
officials kinds of scams.. nice.

No big deal at all except to the OO people who are the only ones raising a stink
about this.

So if "people are still refusing to use it" then how come there's "OO people" and
even such that are "raising a stink about this."

Well..

On another note. The reason why the "Report" is raising debate is exactly the
merits of it. Or lack of them. There's nothing even remotely genuine in that report.
Except the opinions of the writers. That's what it is. It's a compilation of opinions
by the writers and it has nothing to do with the actual abilities or lack of them in
ODF and OOXML. Yes .. neither of them

I suppose the basic thesis the "report" bases it's decisions on is: If organizations
are tightly trenched up in an MS proprietary format they should not even try to
change to format from a different vendor.

That pretty much tell it all about the "report". But more importantly they clearly
show their blatant lack of understanding of ODF and FOSS in general when they
"caution" readers from users of ODF on basis of it being "too strongly controlled by
Sun Microsystems". Microsoft controls OOXML much more than Sun controls ODF.
So why is that not a bad thing according to the writers. Makes you wonder.. might
it perhaps be that those guys a voting for MS..
