- Click Fraud was Rampant in 90s
- Not sure about what percentage of the internet advertizing hi-fliers of the 90s were guilty of it, but one of my sons who was in that line of work says that all of the companies he was familiar with were doing it. Padding the clickthroughs...paying people 5 cents per click to get 10 to 25 cents per click from advertizers. In anyone's book that is fraud. A person was expected to just sit at their computer and repeatedly click through the popups and stationary ads on the websites. Very little buying of product was ever involved.
