If it worked with port 20000 it'd be great
Why do journalists keep calling it a redirect service? Port 80 (and people who mispill names in browsers are not the Internet) - IT IS NOT A REDIRECT SERVICE.

The "service" is the breaking of DNS (port 53) and therefore anything which relies upon the proper (accepted) operation of DNS.

If I'd been aware of it on September 18 I would have saved myself 5 hours of work trying to debug a port 20000 connection which wasn't working, yeah I made a mistake by mistyping a domain name into my configuration, but instead of getting a NXDOMAIN (which I could have debugged easily) I got 64.94.110.11 and a connection refused. It was only when I setup a packet sniffer (after hours of frustration) that I found out what was happening.

Verisign did not redirect my port 20000 connection or help me to determine that the domain name I used was incorrect - they simply wasted 5 hours of my time by breaking the DNS that they are entrusted to provide.

If Verisign want to make money out of port 80 they should get their SiteFinder service embedded into Microsoft Internet Explorer where it belongs.
