Underestimated
You underestimate MS. Of course they knew exactly what the impacts would be, they're not stupid. It is their intent that should be closely scrutinized. In my estimation as in many others this was simply an almost secretive ploy from MS to destroy or at least shred confidence in other competitors. Gestures from MS don't have to be "large" they just have to be effective. MS still believes the public at large are techno lemmings who can be so easily manipulated. Well, this latest debacle proves otherwise. All this is just another nail in the trust casket for anything MS. I don't use it for personal stuff but am plagued by it constantly at the office - slow, unstable, buggy, unsecure, resource intensive and doesn't play well with others. Now Bill G. says that MS will be in everything from our PCs to cars, TVs, etc. Lordy, what a sad MS world North America lives in. At least the rest of the world has more a sophisticated non-MS palette. When will we join them?
