CEO: You know, I am not making the kind of money I thought I would with this company, what can we do about that?

Accountant: Well, we could change our accounting practices.

CEO: How would that help? Income is income, right?

Accountant: Yes and no. We can make it look better than it is by moving future income into a single quarter and that quarter will look fantastic.

CEO: Um yeah, but how does that help me?

Accountant: Well, remember all that stock you have?

CEO: Sure, not that it's doing me much good.

Accountant: Your not seeing it yet. If we have a great quarter or two that stock will sky rocket and we can sell it at the right time and make a fortune.

CEO: A fortune you say?

Accountant: You bet, maybe as much as $30 or $40 million between the two of us.

CEO: The two of us???

Accountant: You bet the two of us. When the defecation hits the rotary oscillator there is going to be hell to pay and it's me that will have to resign. My career will be finished but, $15 or $20 million should do me nicely.

CEO: But isn't that illegal? Won't we go to jail?

Accountant: Naw, we'll just say it was due to a change in accounting methods. Sure some people will be sore at losing their investment while we made tens of millions, but that's their tough luck...
