What was one of Microsoft's main arguments as to why a second document file format was needed (in addition to ODF)? Oh yeah, the world needs it for backwards compatibility with "BILLIONS" of legacy documents in MS Office formats. So, what does MS actually do? Why, they terminate our ability to access those legacy documents with their own applications. Does Microsoft really believe the masses are so stupid that we cannot see that their words and actions are diametrically opposed? It's all about the greed baby!
