hopefully you will stay correct....
however, there is currently legislation making it through the US congress that would allow the US DOJ to file civil and criminal suits against the copyright infringers, effectively shifting the financial burdon of suing the alleged infringers from the record labels (where it belongs) to the US tax payer. In that situation, even if the record labels go bankrupt, you and I, and the millions of American taxpayers would continue to have to foot the bill for these ridiculous and meritless law suits.
