So IBM thought too in 1969
when they were trying to put together their OS/360. They kept adding developers only to realize that LESS progress was attained in that way.

They have something like 20,000 `engineers' working there. How many MORE do they need? The first UNIX needed just 4-5 people to put together. Let alone Linux, Minix, xinu and other systems that started by a single developer.

Ofcourse you will need 100-200 MAX developers to put together a WELL designed and thought out system. OSs development is just that: original work is NOT needed.
