A good idea
Companies should not promise what they can't deliver. Balmer is just making the prudent decision of making sure he doesn't lose any more trust than he already has by being honest with his customers.

As for people who signed up for SA, well sorry, but you made a bad decision. You should never make a decision based on what a vendor promises what they will achieve years in the future. I'm sure they intended to make good, but they were mistaken. Now if you want to punish that vendor by taking your business elsewhere, then that's your prerogative. But remember, you wouldn't be in this mess if you hadn't made a bed decision yourself.
