Japan is not a "free society"...
We have an office in Japan, and often fly personnel from there over to our facility in Alabama. While we are not exactly the height of civilization here, they are always impressed with the freedoms we take for granted. If you had heard the stories which I have heard about how the government treats it's citizens in Japan, you would not be surprised about this.

Sadly, now some political fool will point to this and claim we need it here. The politicos are always willing to toss away our rights in favor of their power.

We can only hope that the children will play around with the tags, and confuse the system so badly that it will make the Japanese school officials into the laughing-stocks of the civilized world for forcing this indignity upon their children. Hopefully, that will cause the plan to be dropped before it becomes mandated in the states as well.

Regards,
Jon
