- Jobs as usual
-
Before my comments, I'll say I've been a mac user for 15
years. I have upgraded every one of my computers, worked
on them, nursed them, treated them like they were one of
my family. I have 6 of them in my house, running right now
- one of them 12 year old. I Have sold or given away at
least 8-10 to date.
No offense but Steve Jobs is not a savior, he's a moron.
Hardware is a commodity - period. You choose hardware as
your company focus, you choose lackluster sales, lackluster
stock prices and commodity valuation on your company as
a whole. Welcome to Apple.
He had it wrong in the beginning, he has it wrong now, he
will get it wrong in the future. No matter how great the
products he delivers to the 3% of people who actually use
Macs - the line will not grow.
Mac has always been about ease of use, and that comes
from software. The biggest mac gain in history came from
the years in the mid to late nineties where mac licensed
their products and their market share grew. Count on
"Jobs-to-the-rescue" to kill that cash cow.
I'm loyal, I am on a Mac now, and I will be in the future -
but it doesn't mean I need to kiss a guys ass who has done
NOTHING to advance the company's market share.
Before you take too quick offense - which all you Mac
loyalists will (despite me being a Mac loyalist) please
remember that there was once an operating system that
could have enjoyed 99% market share today if it hadn't
been inextricably mated to hardware that was 2-3 years
behind the times consistently.
Vision is something Jobs had, for about a year or so, back
in the late 70's. Since then, he might as well have worked
for GM. - Posted by: David Willis Posted on: 07/12/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
