Apparently, the exclusive license gives Eolas the right to pursue patent infringement. It's Eolas, not UCLA, that sued Microsoft. And that means Eolas, not UCLA, must have shown it was harmed by the patent infringement. Would UCLA have pursued Microsoft the same way? Who knows?
