Too funny. The accounting practices...
issue has nothing to do with IT. It's an issue that has been around since way before the PC was even thought of. I don't care what software you use, the accountant can either follow the letter and the spirit of GAAP or not. The rest of the issues regarding corporate data are not tied to anything but the implementation of IT practices which require absolutely no new spending outside of the corporation. Higher salaries may be required to secure IT personnel that has the wherewithall to implement and maintain the procedures neccessary to follow new guidlines. But new purchases of external products and services will provide nothing. This is just a lame attempt at puting the blame where it belongs - with management!
