You need to find a file called javaplugin_oji.so and link that to your default plug-in directory.

First do all the stuff I mentioned in the post below and see if javaplugin_oji.so is already in the default directory.

If not, then do a search for javaplugin_oji.so, and note the folder it's in. Then type in a command prompt (as root):

ln -s /folder/plugin/currently/resides/javaplugin_oji.so /default/plugin/folder/javaplugin_oji.so

That's it.

Of course if command prompts give you the heebie-jebbies, you can do the Super-User File Manager (I'm assuming you use KDE and Konqueroe) and drag and drop yourself a symlink. Find the javaplugin_oji.so file and drag it onto your default plugin folder. When you drop, it's ask whether to copy, move, or link. Either copy or link will do the trick, but link will save you a couple KBs.
