Depends on what your looking for. Heres some examples:
Azureus - BitTorrent Client. Probably best one out there.
JEdit - Real nice text editor with a ton of pluggins.
DBVisualizer - Database tool.
Eclipse - Kick butt IDE which supports multiple languages like Java, C, C++, .NET to name a few.
