Begin misinformed quote - "You really must be a poor developer and/or businessperson then. Cross platform works well and allows a company to rapidly adapt to customer's preferences." - End misinformed quote
LOL, whatever dude. I don't usually discuss my income with people but I can tell you now it's SUBSTANTIALLY above what the typical OSS developer make (or most developers for that matter). WAY above.
If you think it's easier to "adopt customer's preferences by developing for 3 disparate platforms vs one, you are certainly VERY cluless indeed.
Math 101... How much do you think it would cost EXTRA to hire developers, manage the development, marketing, QA (people + extra hardware), sales of supporting 3 platforms vs 1 platform? Hmmm??? Do you think it will be LESS than 4% the cost of supporting just ONE platform? If you answered yes, it would cost LESS than 4% more, then we just discovered why you are not in charge of ANYTHING and probably live with your mom. If you answered no, it would cost MORE than 4% more, then we know why most companies develop for Windows only. Do you think they are in it for the charity, or to stay afloat in a tough software market...?
Would be interesting to you see how you turn this one around. Let's watch...
