but thousands of companies have been paying SERIOUS attention to Windows opportunities for well over a decade and that is why the Windows world is as large as it is and growing larger every day. Software isn't just for computer people anymore. Software is for information, entertainment, and general communications. It is the newspaper, the telephone and even the TV and Radio for tens of millions of consumers who care not one whit for recompiling one's kernel.

Windows is a part of the mainstream, like Coke and Pepsi and Chevrolet and Macdonald's, and nothing is likely to stop them, certainly not a bunch of gearheads touting some obscure 1960's operating system.
