Protection from American companies
is welcome, but to think an American law can be used, let alon enforced on a foreign nation to protect me and other Americans is sheer arrogance. I think you are trying to read more into what I posted.

The privacy law is a great idea. I live in California and appretiate the steps being taken. BUT logic will show that not all companies dealing with Californian citizens are American. So my origional post was questioning how in the hell a state of the United States thinks it can enforce it's law against a foreign sovereign nation?
