MS needs a new song: This one got old a long time ago. "

"we can compete ... -at lower cost, more efficiently and more
reliably," Doesn't Ballmer read his own security bulletins?

Gartner recommended everyone ditch IIS a few years ago, then
came Microsoft's new Trustworthy Computing program. Things
have improved so much that now everyone (including MSN.com)
is recommending that we ditch IE for Mozilla.

The old versions ARE good enough for most people. We have
users on Office 97/2000/XP/2003 and they can't tell the
difference. Why, because nothing has been added to Office
since 1997 that the average user needs or wants.

MS makes some decent products, but if you have any version of
their software produced in the past 5 years, and if you are a
normal business user, you have everything you need. But it still
isn't secure and it still takes a fair amount of support to keep it
running.

Longhorn may change that but a lot can change before
Longhorn SP1 makes it out of the corral.
