You know what I meant.

Yup, but the fact that you conflate "open" with "execute" is purely a Microsoft artifact. People defending Microsoft blame the users for "opening attachments," even though "opening" is synonymous with "executing" only on MS systems. Then they say that the same "stupid users" would "open attachments" on other systems, as though this would also translate to "execute attachments."

Semantics matter, especially when you're pointing out that someone is playing rhetorical games to derive false conclusions.
