IT Managers Will Bury "Hippie" Operating Systems.
How is Novell going to pay back the $600 million they just borrowed? Their product doesn't sell. They abandoned their original product in favor of Linux because they were loosing so badly to Microsoft. Now they're borrowing money and playing stock tricks. SCO had to resort to suing people to make a buck. The bigger message in this story is OPEN SOURCE DOESN'T WORK and the writing is on the wall. Novell is going the way of the dinosaur and Linux is right behind it. Any IT manager who isn't taking a close look at all of this and asking themselves, where do I want to be in 2006? A lot of us went through this with the telcomm's over the past couple of years and want off this ride. Switch now while it's relatively easy and the timing is good.
