Well, not that you mention Linux, they should have.
One of the things missing from the artical is that they did not say one word about Linux or open source software. I think it is obvious that all of the major vendors are going to deploy enterprise applications on Linux to ruduce costs. I think is was just last week that SAP announced that it will port everything to Linux. If you can cut out the high priced hardware and/or high priced software, that can save you a lot. SAP knows that is has to present the absolute lowest price.

The other problem for enterprise verdors is open source databases are getting better and better. That is why SAP turned their database over to MySQL, and will probably dump it as soon as they can copy all of the high end features from SAP DB to MySQL.

And, when are we going to have a new profesoinal open source company called MyERP??? This is not rocket science like the big boys want you to believe.

Unless you can explain ERP in detail...  B.O.F.H. | 07/06/04
Do you have an argument? I argued that they will use Linux to lower costs.  DonnieBoy | 07/06/04

Exactly, they are ruducing costs and keeping competitors out.  DonnieBoy | 07/07/04

You might have paid attention to the article, at least.  Anton Philidor | 07/06/04
The artical also stated that they are demanding discounts and getting them.  DonnieBoy | 07/06/04
Great innovation from Microsoft!  Xunil_Sierutuf | 07/06/04
