Java is a great programming language, and getting better all the time.
I can see that when they open source it, they need to get it right and make sure that it remains compatible.We need to protect the Java brand. But we do need to open source it. On the other front, I love having Miguel de Icaza to keep Microsoft honest. If there is a true open source implementation of .NET, I see that as a great way to keep Sun and everybody inovating on Java. Let's face it, without Mono, Sun might not be talking about open sourcing Java.
