- MoveOn needs to learn the difference between truth...
-
and what they promote.
"The latest campaign asks people to fill out a survey telling 'personal stories' that would illuminate choices between Bush and Kerry. Morris will choose a dozen people to interview for a series of advertisements that will run near the time of the Democratic convention."
Let's be realistic here, most of the people voting against Bush are not doing so because they actually think that Kerry is a viable candidate as much as they simply don't like (hate) Bush.
MoveOn's tactics are akin to political terrorism. The biggest fraud perpetrated by the left, especially MoveOn, is that Bush lied.
Lied about what? Here are some examples of what lies MoveOn has been saying:
From MoveOn.org -
"We now know Rumsfeld personally approved a policy that "encouraged physical coercion and sexual humiliation of Iraqi prisoners," violating their fundamental human rights under the Geneva convention."
First of all, Bush mandated in 2002 that all Iraqi prisoners be treated humanely. Rumsfeld could NOT have approved the physical coercion or sexual humiliation of the foreign terrorists in Iraq. Second of all the Geneva convention does NOT apply to the foreign terrorists or any other group in Iraq because they themselves were acting outside the bounds of the Geneva convention. They are not prisoners of war because they did not LEGALLY engage in warfare as prescribed under the convention. An example - they did not wear uniforms. Thus, it made it impossible to tell the enemy from the civilian population - putting the Iraqi civilians directly and purposely in the line of fire. Under the rules of engagement, the foreign terrorists CAN be held as spies and immediately shot on site.
"Our new ad will help make sure everyone in the country knows about Rumsfeld?s direct responsibility for the prisoner debacle, but to air it we need your help."
What MoveOn DOESN'T tell you is how MOST of the Abu Gharib photos were taken in a very short time - over a few days between 3am and 5am in the morning - in a very hard to find section of the prison (it's like a maze). To condemn the Secretary of Defense over the actions of a few people (who acted on their own) is like condemning the mayor of a city because one bus driver ran a red light and hit a pedestrian. Remember, bus drivers ARE on a schedule they MUST meet - one could logically conclude it's the mayors' fault that the bus driver had to speed.
In addition, ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT MILITARY INTERROGATIONS knows that torture is the LAST thing you'd want to try because it NEVER gives accurate information.
What Rumsfeld did was pass on a memo, part of a series of memo's, as to what the legal capabilities the military could use against the prisoners. It was part of a paper "debate", defining the rules and regulations that could be used. Rumsfeld NEVER ordered any such torture.
"In an attempt to evade responsibility for the misleading statements that pushed the nation into war, Bush has announced plans to form an independent inquiry to look into what went wrong...."
"...But the facts need no clarification. Despite repeated warnings from the CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency, President Bush and his administration hyped and distorted the threat that Iraq posed."
Bush never misled nor lied about Iraq. In his State of the Union Address in Jan of 2002, Bush specifically stated (about Iraq) "Some feel we should wait until the threat is imminent". Obviously, Bush JUST stated in FRONT of America that Iraq posed NO direct threat to the United States. However, the idea behind the Bush Doctrine (Pre-emptive Strike) is the that you hit the enemy BEFORE they have the capability to hit you. This was EXACTLY what President Clinton stated in Dec 1998 when he launched Desert Fox against Iraq - because they were SEEKING to build WMD. Iraq has had WMD, Iraq ADMITTED they had WMD, Iraq USED WMD (Kurds and Iran) and Iraq ADMITTED they didn't destroy all their WMD. Even the UN now admits that Iraq had WMD and was shipping it out to Syria shortly before and during Operation Iraqi Freedom - based on satellite recon photos (gee, isn't that EXACTLY what Powell said they were doing back in 2002?)
As for the "repeated" warnings from the CIA:
1) George Tenat was a Clinton appointee to the CIA position of Director. He supplied the EXACT same information to Clinton that lead to Desert Fox in 1998.
2) When Bush questioned Tenat regarding WMD in Iraq, Tenat replied "Slam dunk, sir, we know they are there" - that's a quote.
The Liberal media and groups like MoveOn are LYING to you. All you need to do is LOOK UP exactly what the president said or did - read their speeches and you will learn that NOTHING the media or these hate groups have ever said about the actions of the president are accurate.
The last time I saw a group of people stir up as much hate against anyone or any other group like the press, the Democrats, Michael Moore and these MoveOn groups have done against conseratives and the current administration - that group of people ended up rolling tanks thru Poland on their way to France while simultaneously killing 6 million Jews along the way.
The REAL hate-mongers and pro-Nazi's are MoveOn.org, Michael Moore and the far left liberals.
