Mozilla does not allow viruses
WindowsUpdate is an official virus delivery system. It uses Microsoft's proprietary security holes to rewrite your operating system with data provided by the internet. Operating system patches should always be provided as versioned patch files that can be installed on multiple PCs. WindowsUpdate violates the necessary testing of updates because you cannot know that the patches you are installing are the same ones you tested, since Microsoft can change the dynmically downloaded code without notice.

Mozilla and other browsers could work with WindowsUpdate if they implemented Microsoft's security holes, but the whole point of using Mozilla is to safely browse the internet. WindowsUpdate is incompatible with this goal.

If you want to use the official virus delivery system, you have to use Microsoft's programs. And keep praying that Microsoft does not decide to destroy your data.
