Each box counts as an Installed Windows Server against Linux
This isnt about simplifying the systems, the costs, or the architecture, its about
giving a false sense of growth in the Windows Server installations census, thereby
allowing their marketing Dept to not lie as much when they say they shipped more
servers than linux each year. Its making piecemeal out of products that could
probably be integrated. And it flies in the face of their desktop strategy where they
attempt to cram everything into XP, or Vista, thereby wiping out features built by
3rd Party firms who accessorize their OS, only to have MS adopt, and extinguish the
need for those firms features and competitive offerings. Typical MS, if you build it,
they will come....and take it away.
