Duh?
Did we read the same article? The article stated that selling email accounts was "similiar" to domain squatting. The article does not say it is illegal. It states that Google bans the sale of gmail accounts. The most obivious valuable ones are those that have well know/trade marked names. Someone may pay for MichaelJ@gmail.com but it is unlikely they'll pay for TomSmith@gmail.com. Since they provide the service and resources to customers for free (minus what you pay for the invite), they have the right to restrict what you can do commercially with their property.
